The book "The Baobab Forest" was an initiative of the Secretary of Education in Federal District, in the year 2021.
This project aimed to present on the National Day of Black Consciousness, teaching more about the African roots symbolized with a little-known tree, but of enormous value: The Baobab.
The project implemented at school Centro de Ensino Fundamental 10 in Taguatinga - Brasília, was totally directed by @CanalFiqueFera and the illustrations were made by me.
The tree, and the life
Baobabs are widely distributed in belts across Africa.
They also grow in Madagascar, India, Ceylon and Australia.
They grow in many areas of Zimbabwe.

Over time, the Baobab has adapted to its environment.
It is a succulent, which means that during the rainy season it absorbs and stores water in its vast trunk, enabling it to produce a nutrient-dense fruit in the dry season when all around is dry and arid.
This is how it became known as "The Tree of Life".

THE baobab tree Adansonia digitata L. (family Bomb-acaceae) has been variously estimated as being several hundred to several thousand years old.
The French botanist Adanson, after whom the tree was named, contended that some specimens were as much as 5,000 years old.
